Freshman basketeers edged out a scrappy Andover five 49 to 42 at Andover Saturday, in a day dominated by Yardling losses. Sloppy long shooting by the quintet in the first half left the game at a 19 to 19 deadlock at the mid-point, but a fast-breaking last half offensive, sparked by Captain John Rockwell's basket-filling, put the Crimson on top.

Two other encounters at Andover Saturday, proved disastrous for the '50 men. In their first meet of the season, trackmen managed to snare only four firsts from speedy Andover sprinters, who came off with 53 to 37 honors. The grapplers lost 13 to 21, with victories materializing in only the three heavyweight matches.

Aggressive St. Paul's ice men eked out a 6 to 4 conquest over the Crimson Saturday, at Concord, as Hoffman and Gardiner of the winners led the field with two tallies each.
