Freshman basketeers edged out a scrappy Andover five 49 to 42 at Andover Saturday, in a day dominated by Yardling losses. Sloppy long shooting by the quintet in the first half left the game at a 19 to 19 deadlock at the mid-point, but a fast-breaking last half offensive, sparked by Captain John Rockwell's basket-filling, put the Crimson on top.
Two other encounters at Andover Saturday, proved disastrous for the '50 men. In their first meet of the season, trackmen managed to snare only four firsts from speedy Andover sprinters, who came off with 53 to 37 honors.
