'50 Quinet Trounces Newman Squad, 79-48

With '12 of Coach "Moe" Berg's Yardlings seeing action on the Indoor Athletic Building floor, the Freshman hoop squad trounced a game but inexperienced Newman Prop quintet, 79 to 48, Saturday night.

Getting off to a slow start that gave them a scant five point lead at the half, the Freshmen opened a 30 point third quarter barrage that sewed the game up. Captain John Rockwell notched 30 markers, leading his team to their eighth victory in nine starts, while Chuck Brynteson was t0he Crimson's second highest scorer with four field goals and four successful free throws.
