Praising the Service Fund as responsible for most of the Council's work, the presidents of ten major undergraduate activities and the chairmen of all the House committees last night rallied behind the current drive and urged all undergraduates to contribute before it closes this Sunday.
In a signed letter to the CRIMSON, the eighteen officers stated they "felt very strongly that the Service Fund drive needs the support of every student at Harvard College."
"Since," they concluded, "the Service Fund supplies all major recognized charities, local, national, and foreign; since all of us have been polled to determine the allocation of funds; since the Service Fund makes possible the valuable work that is done within the College; and since we are all members of a single College Community, we feel that every man in the College should make some contribution, no matter how large or small."
The letter was signed by the presidents of the Glee Club, Band, Debate Council, Advocate, Young Republicans, Phillips Brooks House, Harvard Theatre Workshop, Outing Club, Harvard Radio Network, American Veterans Committee, and the chairmen of the eight House committees, including Dudley.
