College to Offer Limited Facilities Over Yule Layoff

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Skeleton forces will remain on hand over the Christmas vacation to maintain limited dining, library, and recreational facilities for whatever is left of the college population after tomorrow's mass evacuation.

The only part of the College which will continue operation will be University Hall, where all staffs plan to remain working at full force over a shortened week.

Union Stays Open

Although the House counters and the Graduate Dining Hall will close down during the holidays, the Union will continue to serve three meals a day, payable either by coupon or at the regular weekly rate of $11.50. Students planning to use the latter method should sign up either at the Union or Lehman Hall.

Widener and Boylston Libraries will remain open until 5:30 o'clock on weekdays and one o'clock on Saturdays, closing down only on Christmas, New Year's, and Sundays. Union reading rooms shut their doors half an hour earlier.

Gym Facilities Available

The swimming pool and all other facilities in the Indoor Athletic Building will be available weekday afternoons from one to six o'clock for everyone with a participation ticket.

Houses will continue to serve regular meals through tomorrow evening, when the two-week vacation officially begins. Undergraduates returning to College on Sunday, January 4, will find only the Eliot, Adams, and Union dining halls in operation, with all others opening the following morning.
