Strings Attached: How Harvard’s Wealthiest Alumni Are Reshaping University Giving
As a result of the Crimson's 62 to 36 basketball humbling at the hands of Boston University last Tuesday evening, coach Bill Barclay has completely reshuffled his varsity squad to field the five most experienced starters against Tufts tonight at 8:30 o'clock on the Cousens Gym Court, Medford.
To solve the squad's guard-rich, forward-poor problem, veteran guards Bill Brady and Steve Davis will get the starting nods at right and left forward respectively while Bill Henry, a guard until shifted up front last week, will return to his first love. Joining Henry in bringing the ball down-court will be Chip Gannon, whose football-knees have rounded into shape sufficiently to make him a regular.
Tufts Comeback
Tufts, one of New England's pre-war basketball powers, is just regaining its stride, interrupted because it had no armed service officer training program. Two returnees, forward Spud Shapiro, holder of Tuft's scoring record, and guard Al Perry, are currently sparking the Jumbo five, which so far has defeated Devens but lot to Holy Cross in two starts.
