Bellboys Trip Adams, 7-6, on Sammond Dash

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Halfback Charley Sammond emerged as Lowell House's running threat yesterday when he led the Bellboys to a 7 to 6 victory over Adams House at Soldiers Field.

Held under wraps so far this season, Sammond ignited a Lowell rally midway through the first period by setting up a first down on the Gold Coast 20-yard line. He then cut back through the right side of the Adams line, bounced off several tacklers, and zig-zagged into the end-zone. Dan Silver kicked the-extra point.

Adams retaliated in the second period with a two-yard touchdown smash but an attempted pass for the extra point was broken up.
