Poor Eat Turkey; Blood Drive Ends

Twenty-four needy Cambridge families ate turkey and plum pudding dinners yesterday after Phillips Brooks House again distributed its annual Thanksgiving food packages.

Packed and delivered by a Freshman committee led by Gordon W. Hedin '46, the surprise gifts reached families which were chosen by the Cambridge Social Service Center. Besides vegetables and all the trimmings, the larger families were given turkeys, while others received large chickens.

The PBH blood drive, completed last Tuesday, reached within 14 pints of its 200 pint quota. Jay Fialkow '48, PBH vice-president, declared the drive successful, pointing out that the 186 pints received from students earlier this week topped last year's quota by a considerable amount.

Blood collected at the University will be distributed to Massachusetts State Hospitals for use free of charge.
