Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
Starting some six months early, a dozen adherents of the oldest of American games opened lacrosse practice yesterday at Soldiers Field and plan to continue four times a week until the snow falls.
Headed by Dick Bernard, last spring's goalie who played with the United States lacrosse power, John Hopkins before coming to Harvard, the stickmen plan to use the fall to groom the more inexperienced players and to indoctrinate recruits from this year's Freshman class.
Get Athletic Credits
On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons at 2:30 o'clock the lacrosse players take to the turf to work mainly on stickwork, passing and formations. Equipment, including sticks, is available for all potential Indians at the Dillon Field House and Freshman athletic credits are given.
Sometime after midyears, regular practice will begin under Coach Maddux, who is not conducting the fall's activities, in the cage at Soldiers Field. Then real preparations start for the opening game against Princeton on March 30.
