Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Lost weekenders have more than hangovers, Dr. R. F. Bales told the Social Relations Society last night. They have family troubles, and even psychopathic complexes.
Speaking at Phillips Brooks House on the Socio-Psychological Problem of Alcoholism, Bales declared that the reason behind the craving for drink goes further than a palate with a high octane rating. strained family relations, with possibly an underlying ocdipus complex, and assorted worries all account for the alcohol addict.
The man given to drink is no different from the man on the other side of the fire door when he first starts imbibing, Bates said. But once he begins, he withdraws into his social shell, and cannot put down his glass. Unless he is shown how to stop, his habit will grow worse as he gets older.
