Communist, Foe Wrangle Tonight

A Communist politician and a Conservative author will share the platform of the first Republican Open Forum of the year this evening in a discussion of "American Communism: Does it threaten Democracy." The discussion will begin at 8 o'clock in the Winthrop House Junior Common Room.

Otis Hood, Chairman of the Massachusetts Communist Party, and present candidate for the Boston School Committee, will uphold the negative in tonight's discussion. Opposing him will be William Henry Chamberlain, newspaperman and author.

Moderator of the discussion will be C. Crane Brinton '19, McClean Professor of Ancient and Modern History. The GOP Forum plans to present a regular of panel discussions.
