$40,000 Goal Is Set For Chest Campaign

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

University students, Faculty, and staff will be asked to contribute $40,000 to the Greater Boston Community Chest Drive, Charles A. Bliss, professor of Business Administration and director of the campaign, announced yesterday.

Of this sum, approximately $3,400 will come from the Student Council's $17,000 charity fund, as a recent Council poll indicated that students want about 20 percent of the fund to go to the Community Chest.

The drive, which will last until mid-November, will have its headquarters in Weld Hall 28.

In a letter to the University community, President Conant urged support of the fund because it is "an expression" of "the strong bond of interest" that "marks our community life."
