Inter-Church Religion Talks Begin Tonight

In an effort to further understanding among the various local religious groups, an organization known as the Harvard Square Inter-Church Student Council will sponsor talks this fall on the major faiths. First on the list will be a discussion of Judaism by Rabbi Maurice L. Zigmund tonight in the Noble Room of Phillips Brooks House at 7:15 o'clock.

Other talks in the series will analyze Protestantism on November 10 and Catholicism on December 1 at the same time and place, while later in the year additional speakers will discuss the various Protestant sects and other religions in greater detail.

To implement the actual meetings, which will consist of 45 minute talks followed by question periods, the entire group will be invited to attend typical religious services of each of the faiths. First of these will be a visitation to a Jewish service on Friday evening. November 7, and the succeeding visits will be scheduled for the Sunday following the date when each particular faith is up for discussion.

Churches participating in the Council include the Jewish and eight Protestant denominations: Congregational, Episcopal, Friends, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Unitarian.
