Student Dance Band Seeks Torrid Thrush

"We're looking for a sultry, sexy female--who can sing," Robert E. Herman '50 said yesterday. Herman, leader of the first undergraduate dance band hereabouts since the famous "Gold-Coasters" succumbed to the draft, announced that his 11-piece unit would supply the music for the Dunster House Saturday evening.

Recruited almost entirely from the University Band, the new unit will play as "Bop Herman and his Orchestra," at least until a University charter permits the group the name "Harvardians."

Complete except for a vocalist, the new band plans bookings at other functions here and in neighboring colleges. "We'll play the kind of music the customers want," Herman said, promising intermissions of "reasonable" length.
