Spirited Kirkland House's undefeated eleven rolled to its fourth straight victory of the fall over an undermanned Winthrop team, 18 to 6, yesterday afternoon at Soldiers Field. while the Deacons took over first place in the intramural league, Dunster's Funsters and the Yard's Outhousers battled to a 7 to 7 deadlock.
In the only touch football contest scheduled yesterday, Eliot's Mastadons, using an alternating platoon system, wore down a one-team Adams squad and defeated it, 24 to 12, as balding Sta Bartle starred for the Jumbos.
Bucky Harrison's swollen Deacon squad played a spotty game in defeating the Puritans who were able to field only a 15 man squad. Kevin McCarrey, Kirkland tallback, went for the first score on a dash around right end in the opening period. E>Lamb Gets Two
After a second period lull, Deacon Tom Lamb went for two touchdowns in the second half, one on a 45-yard gallop off right tackle and the other a one-yard. plunge, Two Kirkland extra points were blocked and the other zoomed wide.
Just before the game ended Winthrop passed 61 yards for a score with Dave Aloian completing 6 of 8 serials on route, the last going to right end Ethan Bisbee in the end zone.
After scoring on the second play of the game when Dave Wilton intercepted an Outhousor flat pass and ran for 60 yards, Dunster could do nothing with the large Yard line. The Outhousors had their troubles too, but tied up the game in the last period when Feder went around end for their score.
