Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
For the first time this week, Dick Harlow and his Varsity football coaching staff were satisfied with the Crimson's work-out yesterday as their charges dashed through an accelerated drill with the pop and fight which previously had been noticeable only by its absence.
Henry Lamar's Freshman eleven, with Boston University's winged-T attack, broke away for several long gains against Varsity B and C teams, and further defensive scrimmage was indicated for the next two days.
The return to scrimmage yesterday of end Armando "Stretch" Mazzone strengthened the flank ranks, thinned by the injury of first-stringer Bob Kennedy whose availability against the Terriers Saturday is still in doubt.
Two New Backfield Shifts
With triple-threat back Jim Kenary--passing, running, and field-goal kicking--consistently in the A team line-up at quarterback. Ken O'Donnell has been shifted to wingback as insurance for Chip Gannon.
The wily Harlow, is still keeping O'Donnell familiar with quarterback assignments and Kenary with those at tailback. In the only other shift this week, Gibby Warren, former Gannon-insurance, has been moved to tailback, joining Chuck Roche and Hal Moffie in that slot.
All-white footballs went into use as kick-off practice continued in near darkness. With Emil Drvarie's boots averaging 60 yards, Harlow was impressed with defensive down-field coverage.
1948 Bulwark Prospect
Helping Chief Boston coach the Jayvees yesterday was a man who may well be the mainstay of next year's Crimson line. He is Junior Tom Guthrie, 225-pounder who started at end for Notre Dame in 1944.
Ineligible this fall because of transfer rules, the big man from Newark, New Jersey next year might be shifted to fullback to fill the large hole left by Captain Vince Moravec's graduation.
A team lineup:
Le, Wally Flynn; lt, Howie Houston; lg, Bob Drennan; c, Don Stone; rg, Jim Feinberg; rt, Chet Pierce; re, Red Hill; qb, Jim Kenary; lhb, Chuck Roche; rhb, Chip Gannon; fb, Vince Moravec.
