Quaint Holy Cross posters like "Virginia ham will be our bacon" got an airborne answer yesterday noon as a monoplane with an unidentified Crimson partisan at the wheel strafed the Worcester campus with leaflets.
Catching the student body outside the mess hall, the aviator unleaded runners reading: "Sports columnist predicts Holy Cross defeat. We'll back him up on Saturday."
The raid broke up an impromptu rehearsal of a Crusader version of "Carry me back to Old Virginuy," composed for today's Stadium clash. After the second "bombing run" the aircraft disappeared into the sun leaving 2000 papers to the attention of the Crusader fans and refuse collectors.
Fire Unquenched
Mt. St. James dwellers went methodically back to creating expressions of spirit as "we'll crack concrete with the Crimson" following the hint of Coach John "Ox" DaGrosa.
The stunt was reminiscent of a similar incident at New Haven last weekend when a Columbia plane scattered "safe conduct" passes over the Elis guaranteeing them immunity from attack on Manhattan subways.
