Housing Deadline Met as Students In Gym Receive Room Assignments

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The battle of the Indoor Athletic Building moved into its final stages Thursday evening and yesterday as the University Housing Office, breaking its own deadline by 36 hours, assigned the last member of the beleaguered undergraduate garrison billeted there to rooms in the Yard or in the Dudley, Apley, Claverly. Little chain.

Only a handful of men slept there last night, and even fewer will spend the weekend in the gymnasium that has been their home since registration in September. Evacuation is going on constantly.

Robert B. Watson '37, associate dean of the College, declared last night that he originally hoped to have all men in new rooms by today, but that conversion of suites in the Houses has taken more time than expected. He predicted, however, that everyone should definitely be out by Tuesday and that the gym floor would probably be cleared by the end of the week.
