House Masters have stamped official approval on a schedule of seven post-game House dances that slates Adams and Kirkland to lead off the College's fall social season on Saturday, October 18, weekend of the Holy Cross fracas.
William D. Weeks '49, temporary chairman of the Student Council Inter-House Social Committee, disclosed last night that at a meeting of the group yesterday, chairman of House social committees reported that their Housemasters approved the schedule set up last week.
Dunster, Lowell on October 25
Under the plan, Dunster and Lowell Houses will handle heavy social chores after the Dartmouth game, October 25, while Leverett will hold its dance on November 1, day of the Rutgers contest. Eliot House now occupies the November 8 Princeton weekend slot, and Winthrop will close the series on November 15, day of the Brown game.
Dates of the dances were determined by a drawing held last week by the Inter-House committee, which then drafted the schedule and submitted it to the House Masters. Details of the social events, such as ticket prices, exact hours, and dress, will be determined prior to the dance by the social committee of the House sponsoring the affair.
Weeks Temporary Head
Weeks, who was appointed by the Council to organize the committee, will be replaced later in the fall by a chairman elected by the committee itself. The new head will work in conjunction with the Council.
The Inter-House committee is a central office for information on local orchestras, refreshments, and other general information that will aid Houses in running the dances.
