M.P. to Describe Effect of Labor Policy in England

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Patrick C. Gordon-Walker, Labour Member of Parliament since 1945 and one of the youngest men in the British Cabinet, will describe successes and failures of the Labour Party's legislative program at a meeting sponsored by the Liberal Union tonight at 8 o'clock in the New Lecture Hall. Samuel H. Beer, assistant professor of Government, will introduce the speaker.

Gordon-Walker is one of the group of young intellectuals who are rising to prominence in British Labour Party circles. He is now Parliamentary Secretary to Herbert Morrison, the Lord President of the Council, and also serves as floor leader of the Labour forces in the House of Commons.

During the war Gordon-Walker took an active interest in German anti-Nazi underground movements, and slipped into the Reich several times to contact the insurgents.

As the voice of Britain, he channeled radio propaganda to German workers for the British Broadcasting Company.
