Bozman Retained As H.L.U. Leader In Quiet Election

Bearing faint resemblance to the strife-ridden group which wrangled for four hours over October elections, approximately 60 restless members of the Liberal Union quickly swept through the balloting for six offices last night, renaming President William H. Bozman '46 by acclamation.

Traces of internal dissension appeared only once during the session. Attacking "a group of 15 or 20" who had held a previous caucus last week for the purpose of choosing a special slate for the elections.

Eugene V. Dalgin 45, reinstated as treasurer last night by acclamation, defended the private caucus, pointing out that Benewitz himself had served on the fall caucus which had engineered the defeat of many of last year's alleged Communist officers. Benewitz, Charles Sellers '45, and Abraham Goldblum '46 did form an anti-communist bloc at the October balloting which forced election of all officers and was able to muster enough votes to carry a new group of men into office.

Others elected to new posts of the executive council were: Frederick D. Houghteling '50 as vice president; Warren J. Green '46 as Secretary; Don S. Willner '47 as Chairman of the Political Action Committee; and Geoffrey W. White 48 as Chairman of the Harvard Affairs Committee.
