Chairman of U.N. Council Outlines Projects on WBZ

Taking to the airwaves for the second time since its birth, the University's newly formed United Nations Council sent its president, Stephen M. Schwebel '50, to WBZ's "Open for Opinion" program yesterday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock.

In a panel discussion with representatives of Smith and Radcliffe and an instructor of Economics from M.I.T. on the subject "United Nations and the Colleges," Schwebel outlined the work now being done by his group to promote a "wider and more intelligent support of the U.N."

General Education courses were seen as an opportunity to encourage interest and knowledge in international affairs by the panel which was dedicated to the American Association of Universities and Colleges which is currently meeting here.

Among the future activities discussed yesterday are a model U.N. session to be held at Smith College at the end of February, and a "political laboratory" being formed here that will feature foreign students presenting the views of their home governments.
