The chance to observe the Radcliffe species of womanhood at close-quarters and to decide whether that institution has been over or under-rated will be afforded Freshmen and new veterans at the Phillips Brooks House teas scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of next week.
Veterans especially, familiar with service-type roster systems, will again find that the man who was unfortunate enough to be born to people whose last name begins with a letter beyond G in the alphabet is in for the dirty end of the deal. Since men from A through G only are welcome at the first tea, by Wednesday the women are likely to be second-hand and shop-worn; obviously, it is unfair, and absolutely unpredictable, to judge a Radcliffian not at her very best.
PBH officials, however, auxious for pleasant social contacts to be made, are optimistic about the whole thing, pointing out that the 'Cliffedwellers are a rugged tribe. It is also to be noted, they say, that the new freshman class at Radcliffe is its prettiest in recent years, all of which may be taken at face value.
For misogynists, faithfully married men, students with friends at Wellesley, and anybody else, for that matter, PBH recommends its membership meeting scheduled for 7:30 o'clock Monday evening.
