Star Singer, Sick of Singing, Is Silent at PAC Reception

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

To the hordes of eager scholars who dropped their notebooks and headed for the Club 100 on Tuesday, after reading a CRIMSON invitation to hear Libby Holman sing, an explanation is due.

Miss Holman did not sing, as announced by the party's sponsors, the Cambridge Citizen's Political Action Committee, because of a rigorous afternoon-long recording session and a fast-approaching evening appearance in her new show, "The Best of Friends," at the Cambridge Summer Theater.

All was not lost, though. A featured singer from the show subbed for Miss Holman, and other celebrities, including Francis O. Matheisson professor of History and Literature, appeared as scheduled.
