Dunster and Winthrop Win Softball Contests

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dunster came out on the long end of an 11 to 10 score against Winthrop on the softball diamond Tuesday after fighting hard in the late innings to wipe out a seven run deficit.

Yesterday the Puritan softballers retaliated in handing Lowell its third setback in four starts, 10 to 6, in a game marked by the presence of numerous ringers on both sides. Leverett defeated Adams by default in the only other game scheduled.

The hardball scene was not so bright with activity. In three scheduled connects no House was able to field a complete team, as Lowell won by default over Adams and two other games were postponed.

Adolph W. Samborski '26, director of intramural athletics this summer, is not discouraged by the poor attendance at most House games so far, and he attributes the fact almost entirely to the hour exams. "I've even noticed it on my Varsity squad," he said, adding that a number of games have been postponed until the regular season ends.

After a meeting with the various House athletic secretaries, Samborski expressed hope for a larger turn-out next week.
