Rabbi Zarchi Confronted Maria Ressa, Walked Off Stage Over Her Harvard Commencement Speech
Expressing gratification at the action of the Massachusetts Senate yesterday in passing the Massachusetts FEPC bill, John C. L. Hulley '44, president of the Liberal Union, said last night that Harvard participation in the demonstration of 400 people before the State House in Boston had contributed materially to the passage of the bill.
The College delegation, minimized because of conflicting examinations, came after the Massachusetts Committee for FEPC had issued a rally call to other organizations interested in the bill. On Saturday, the HLU's Committee for FEPC, headed by Calogero Taibi '49, posted placards throughout the College asking student representation at the rally.
Other HLU activity for the anti-discrimination measure has consisted of a forum at the beginning of the forum and several visits to the State House to intercede on its behalf.
