After an interlude of four years, full scale intramural activities will get under way again next fall, Adolph W. Samborski '25, Director of Intramural Athletics, announced yesterday. "The present program is just a transitory scheme. Next year we'll have the real thing again."

The Perey s. Strans '97 House All-Round Championship Trophy, awarded to the House. Which amasses the highest point total in all events, will be put up for competition. The House Perpetual Football and Baseball Trophies, the inter-House Squash, Swimming, Tennis, and Crew cups will all be awarded next year.

Efforts will be made to reopen the championship House contests with Yale. Ordinarily the top Crimson House teams take on the championship Yale College teams, the winner of the majority of these contests receiving the Edward S. Harkness Trophy.

In the years before the war, close to 1500 students, all upper-classmen, participated in the House athletic events. House teams battled in twenty-five different sports; graduate mentors coached the squads; professional officials refereed many of the games.

All upper-class members of Houses will be eligible to participate in the intramural contests if they have not won Varsity letters previously in the sports in which they wish to engage or are not on Varsity squads in those same sports. Men may participate whether on probation or not.

"The main purpose of out intramural programs this spring," said Samborski, "is to try and work up some spirit in the Houses."
