Beating out Yale by a slim margin of 106 to 93, M.I.T. captured the Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup in the 16th annual races held Sunday in the Charles River Basin, off its own Nautical Association Floats.
Victor in a field of 17 competitors, Tech was trailing Eli till the last two races in the afternoon when the Engineer's coach Doc Lukens turned the trick by substituting a fresh helm man. The Crimson A and B teams turned in a rather weak 4th and 8th respectively. Paul M. van Buren '46 and Alex Ogilby '47 comprised the first crew, while Hilary H. Smart '47 and Owen G. Torrey '47 competed in the B division races.
