Dunster Forum Will Reopen Prewar Series

"Education in a Fumbling Society" will be the first topic of the revived Dunster House Forum when it opens tomorrow at 8 o'clock under student direction after a lapse of five years. The forum was inaugurated in 1937 by Seymour E. Harris '20, professor of Economics, as part of the regular House activities, and dissolved when war closed the House.

The participants in the discussion will include John H. Finley, Jr. '25, Eliot Professor of Greek Literature; Francis O. Matthiessen, professor of History and Literature; and Edward A. Weeks, Jr. '22, editor of the "Atlantic Monthly." Crane Brinton '19, professor of History, will act as moderator.

Two students, instead of the pre-war faculty member, are now in charge of operating the forum, selecting topics, and procuring speakers. They are James Buxbaum '49 and Frederick L. Holborn '49.

"During the thirties," declared Holborn yesterday, "the forums on the depression and the New Deal were kept going so long by interested audiences that they had to be stopped by tired speakers."
