Lodge Calls Churchill Speech "Inadmissible"

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. '23, former United States Senator from Massachusetts, last night, following an off the record talk to the members of Winthrop House, termed Churchill's speech "utterly inadmissible." In regard to our relations with Russia, Lodge said that we must create a new atmosphere since the situation is a "vicious circle" at present.

"It is shocking to realize that there has been no good personal contact between American and Russian policy markers," Lodge stated, suggesting that the atmosphere can be improved by friendly basis of understanding between individuals and a frank statement by each nation of the limit of its aims.

Recently discharged from the Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after fighting in Africa, France, and Germany, lodge was awarded the Legion of Merit and the French Legion of Honor while in the service.
