Pondleton Herring, associate professor of Government, tutor in the Department of Government, and secretary of the Graduate School of Public Administration, has been granted a leave of absence for one year beginning July 1, Dean Buck announced Tuesday. He will become an executive associate of the Carnegie Corporation at that time.
Active in the University since his arrival as an instructor in 1928, Herring has also acted as a consultant to the War and Navy Departments and to the Burean of the Budget during the war. In the last capacity he was executive secretary of the committee on records of the War Administration. At present he is editor-in-chief of the Public Administration Review.
