Band Search Continues For Freshman Jubilee

Reporting to the Freshman Class Committee last night on the results of a week's hunt for bands to play at the Freshman Jubilee April 26 or 27. Lawrence F. O'Donnell '49 stated that Randy Brooks, whom he described as "one of the finest band leaders available in Boston at any price," was so far a good possibility.

Buell S. Smith '49, supplementing O'Donnell's statement, said that he had contacted a musician by the name of Lennie Lewis, by long distance from Indianapolis. Lewis, said Smith, had admitted that he was "something of an unknown but up and coming," and that "Harvard publicity was worth--$500" to him.

The committee, however, resolved to keep both men in reserve, aiming at a continued search until lack of time made an immediate decision necessary.

The group also heard James F. Rayan '49 report on behalf of the Red Book, with attention to a new publication schedule.
