Council May Aid Yardmen

Contingent upon a favorable report from their Finance Committee, the Student Council last night approved the proposal that men in the Yard be relieved of the necessity of eating breakfast in the Houses, and that their board charges he reduced proportionately.

The Council emphasized, however, that this move would in no way be a restitution of the 14-meal plan, and that it would be applicable to residents of the Yard only, in recognition of their extraordinary position as regards dining facilities this term.

Yard Petition

The action was taken in response to a petition circulated in the Yard during the past two weeks, which obtained approximately 250 signatures. A special meeting will be held in the near future if the Finance Committee submits an adverse opinion, to reconsider final suggestions for University consideration.

In addition, the Council appointed three new committees to investigate the current housing problem, a possible parking area for college automobiles, and the awarding of Council scholarships.
