In what at first looked to be a full dress assault and battery case with intent to rob, Patrick F. Bowditch, of Lowell House, and a friend, Dirck Roosevelt, were haled into a Cambridge district court yesterday.
The charge quickly dissolved, however, when the complainant, a resident of Cambridge, decided that after all, the youths hadn't attempted to take his money and that maybe they just had to much to drink. The case was dismissed and each of them fined fifteen dollars for disturbing the peace.
Although the district judge referred to both of them as college students, and all of the Boston papers called the due Harvard men, the University records failed to show Dirck Roosevelt registered as a student here.
