Yardling Puck Team Faces Final Cut Today

Twenty-two Freshmen will remain on the Yardling hockey team after today's final cut, Coach john Chase said yesterday, and the team will get its first taste of competition December 11 when it scrimmages Governor Dummer.

Still full of holes, the tentative schedule includes tilts with leading prep and high schools as well as first year teams from other colleges. Included so far are St. Paul's, Andover, Exeter, Noble and Greenough, St. mark's, and the freshman forces of Yale, Dartmouth, Boston College, and Boston university.

Chase Head Coach

Although Chase is the official coach of the squad, he has largely delegated his authority to two able assistants; Stan Priddy, former Dartmouth player and present defenseman for the Boston Athletic Association, and Doug Annett, a Canadian who is spending his spare time at the University studying for a Ph.D.

Citing a good opportunity to help the team and win Freshman numerals too, Varsity manager Bill Swan announced that the Yardling managerial post is still open to late comers, and that applicants can apply at the Arena any afternoon this week.

Little can be said of the team's prospects at this point as most of the men are new and untried.
