Four University delegates will attend the Chicago Conference on International Student Affairs during Christmas vacation as a result of a Student Council veto late last night. acting favorably on a proposal by S. Douglass Cater, Jr. '46, the Council decided to send three undergraduate representatives and one graduate to the meeting and marked out election procedures for the choosing of the quartet.
In an additional and unexpected move, the Council embarked on a full-scale investigation of the 49 Red Book, which was reported as having organizational and financial difficulties. Robert B. Palmer '47 was named to probe the Freshman annual, which the Council has agreed to underwrite.
Election Methods
As outlined by the Council, the methods of choosing the representatives to the Chicago meeting will endeavor to reach every undergraduate for the selection of the three College men. The single graduate delegate, the group announced, will be chosen difficulty of reaching the whole body of graduate students.
According to the designated procedure, a nominating committee will be picked and announced by next week. All interested in becoming delegates will be invited to submit their names to the nominating group, which will then study the applicants' qualifications and prepare a ballot to be voted upon by the entire undergraduate body in both the Houses and the Union.
Council Forums Start Today
First of house forums to discuss Student Council membership, will be held this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in Dudley Hall, and 7:30 o'clock in Winthrop House.
