House Forums Begin To Assist in Drafting Council's Constitution

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Constitutional Committee of the Student Council last night announced the final schedule of House forums to be held this week for the purpose of formulating a new Council constitution. Edric A. Weld '46, chairman of the Committee, in making the announcement, stated that at least three members of the Constitutional Committee would attend each of the House forums.

The meetings will begin with a short summary of the work which has already been done by the Committee, and will be followed by an outline of the principal issues involved, Weld said. The main topics expected to come up for discussion are questions concerning future membership of the Council--the issue of membership by appointment and that of elections by Houses alone are a combination of House and class. An informal straw poll will be taken at each of the meetings to obtain a sample opinion on these questions.

The schedule of meetings:

Dec. 3, 4:30 o'clock: Dudley Hall

7:30 o'clock: Winthrop

Dec 4, 7:30 o'clock: Dunster

Dec. 5, 7:30 o'clock: Leverett

Dec. 9, 7:30 o'clock: Eliot

Lowell

Dec. 10, 7:30 o'clock: Kirkland
