Official Talks Today On Foreign Service

Under the auspices of the Government Department, William P. Maddox, Chief of the Division of Training Services of the Department of State and former member of the University faculty, will speak at 4 o'clock this afternoon in the New Lecture Hall on "Training for the Foreign Service."

Maddox, who also taught at Princeton and at the University of Pennsylvania after he left Cambridge, was a colonel in the O.S.S. during the war. In his present post he has the task of planning and regulating the training programs of the State Department.

At present he is working closely with the Foreign Service Institute which was recently establishment under Congressional legislation.
