The Hillel Foundation will present, as the feature of its annual Hanukah Festival, Miss Ruth Rubin in a lecture-recital of Jewish folk music, tomorrow evening at eight o'clock in the Peabody Room, Phillips Brooks House.
Miss Rubin has devoted herself to the study of Jewish secular music for a number of years, and is considered an expert in this field. Her recital will trace the origin and development of Jewish music, from the ancient chants of the Levites, through the products of Eastern European Jewry, to the most modern Palestinian songs.
The program will be opened with the traditional lighting of the candles by students. An informal dance will follow the recital.
