Slade Urges HLU To Aid Abolition Of Rankin Group

Students must aid in the fight to abolish the House Committee on Un-American Affairs, according to Miss Sylvia Slade, representative of the Massachusetts Civil Liberties Union, who addressed the members of the Liberal Union last night in Phillips Brooks House.

Citing Committee Chairman John Rankin's alleged "star chamber" methods in his November examination of Harlow Shapley, director of the College Observatory, Miss Slade urged students to disseminate information about the Committee's activities to friends and parents and to make their own views known to members of Congress.
