NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Leading a slate of then candidates, Douglass Cater '46, Eugene A. Dinet, Jr. '44, and Clifton R. Wharton, Jr. '47, were named as the University delegates to the National Student Conference in Chicago according to the tabulation of yesterday's college-wide election announced last night.

Cater, who is chairman of the Council's Committee on International Student Activities and has been active in preparation for the Student Conference, won first place with a clear majority of 1033 out of the 1852 student votes cast.

In the next three places the race for winning positions was extremely close. Dinet totaled 607, Wharton gained 600, and Richard G. Axt '46 ran a very close tourth with 593.

Specific Planning Now Possible

Speaking for the three winners and the Graduate School delegate Andrew G. Rice '43 1G, Cater said last night, "Now that we know the results, the delegation can get down to work on specific plans which will have to be made in the next two weeks."

Order of placing beginning with the fifth spot was: James J. Sullivan, Jr. '47 who polled 498, Francis D. Fisher '47, Ray, A. Goldberg '48, Joel Rethschild '47, Raymond J. Considine '48, and Leo Martinuzzi '50.

The delegates-elect will leave their homes during the Christmas vacation in time to attend the opening session of the three-day parley on December 28. Plans for the conference, which are still necessarily indefinite, call for the establishment of the framework and objectives of a permanent national student organization.
