French Readjustment Bogs Cited By Rueff

At a meeting in Agassiz Hall yesterday afternoon, Jacques Ruff, French United Nations delegate, addressed in French Le Cercle inter-Universitaire on persisting effects of the German occupation of his homeland.

Rueff, who was French Minister of Finance from 1936-40 and president of the Inter-Allied Reparations Council immediately following the war, gave a broad outline of the lack of housing, the inadequate food supply, and the widespread damage to rail and road lance of commerce.

The meeting was then opened to specific questions from the audience. Obstacles to the rehabilitation of French citizens who were slave laborers in Germany was a focal point of discussion.

The French economist was brought to "Le Cercle Francais inter-Universitaire," an organization made of of college french clubs in the state, through the cooperation of Audre Chambon, French Consul in Boston.
