Examinations Prevent Full Soccer Practices

Hour exams have cut heavily into the size of the soccer this week, and Coach MacDonald probably will not have his whole first team at practice before Friday. Preparation for Saturday's Varsity contest with Springfield and the Jayvee game with Medford High on Friday is therefore under a severe handicap.

In the Varsity-Freshman scrimmage on Monday, Freshman mentor "Poley" Guyda suffered a severely strained ankle when he collided with a Varsity defenseman. At that time he was playing as a forward for the Freshman squad in an effort to coordinate their attack. A former professional booter, Guyda will continue to handle the Yardlings from the sidelines as soon as the ankle heals sufficiently for him to got off crutches.

In the practice this week Mac has been stressing the full use of the outside men in the forward line and trying to get the team to stop trying to score on dashes through the center of the opponent's defense, a practice which he feels has cost the Crimson several goals so far thin season.
