Urging all AVC members in the University to attend, Reginald Zalles 2G, executive secretary of the Harvard Chapter of the American Veterans Committee, announced last night that an election meeting will be held this evening at 7:15 o'clock in Emerson 211.

Nominated at the last gathering of the Chapter were Zalles and Stanley Geller 1G, for Chairman; Richard Axt '45, former chapter head, and Russell H. Jackson, for vice-chairman; and Robert Wood '46, Malcolm Smith '46, and Zalles, for executive secretary. Seven committee chairmanships as well as the posts of recording secretary, treasurer, and delegate to the Greater Boston Area Council must also be filled.

"We're hoping that all of Harvard AVC's more than 600 members will turn out tonight," Zalles said, "in order that this election may prove democratic and representative to the greatest possible degree.

In addition to the choosing of officials, the group has placed on the agenda a consideration of two constitutional amendments. One would require advance notice of new business, thus allowing the entire membership an opportunity to make definite plans to attend when controversial issues are scheduled for an airing. The other provides for a permanent housing committee. Further discussion is slated for the question of inter-racial relations in Cambridge.

Plans call for registration at the door upon entering the meeting and receipt of a ballot with blanks for each position.
