Pre-Season Grappling Opens Under Thomas

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After an early start two weeks ago, preseason wrestling practice is now in full swing under the direction of Jay Thomas, the Freshman coach, who will act as Varsity mentor until Chief Boston finishes his duties with the Jayvee eleven. An average of about 20 grapplers of various sizes and abilities have been appearing at the daily workouts in the Indoor Athletic Building.

Most of those coming to practice have been freshmen, including last year's Milton Academy captain and a state champion from Oklahoma. Judging from the array of talent already available, this winter's Freshman team should be well stocked with experienced men, Coach Thomas ventured.

Tentatively planning to start road work this week, Thomas expects the squad to grow larger when the recently announced changes in the Freshman athletic program go into effect.
