Vet Theater Cast May Take Play to London

William Gerhardi, author of "I Was A King In Babylon" has interested Firth Sheppard, London producer of his play, in having the cast of the Veterans Theatre Workshop act in the production when it is staged in London next season, the group disclosed last night.

If present contract arrangements go through, the English premiere will be postponed until next summer, when members of the cast will be able to make the trip. An American representative of the Sheppard interests will be on hand to see the world premiere of the production when it is presented in Rindge Auditorium next Wednesday.

Jerome Kilty, director of the Veterans Theatre, also last night denied a story which appeared in the London Evening Standard on November 19, which stated that the play had been banned in Boston. Explaining that there had been one scene in which souls awaiting reincarnation wandered about the stage in flesh-colored bathing suits, Kilty said that bath robes and dim lights had been ordered to conform with local regulations.
