When Coach Henry Lamar's Yardling football eleven, with a season's record of two wins, three losses and one tie, takes the enclosed football field this afternoon at 2 o'clock against a Freshman Eli squad, undefeated in six contests, they will be rated decided underdogs.
This rating, based on season records, is, however, very deceptive. For the Crimson first year charges, after getting off to a slow start because of organization and placement difficulties, have bounded back to romp over their last two opponents, taking the Dartmouth yearlings, 20 to 0, two weeks ago, and then the Bruin Freshmen, 28 to 7, last Saturday.
The eyes of the experts will be on the young Crimson quarterback, Jim Kenary, a 60-minute iron man in every Yardling contest this fall, and a man some grand-stand quarterbacks feel is slated for first string Varsity next year. Dick Harlow has sucucumbed to the L only because he has no passing quarterback available for the favored T formation. With Don Trimble the only man definitely out with injuries, other features of the Yardling attack will be the pass reception ability of George Goodrich, who snagged two for scores against Brown last week, and the running of shifty fullback, Howie Mofile, a man who chalked up several long runs against the Varsity this week, while imitating Levi Jackson.
