Touch football with a dash of color was the general impression of some two-score early birds and class-cutters who journeyed down to Soldiers Field in the morning mists yesterday to watch the Los Angeles Rams cavort around in their six-tone practice uniforms.
Pass offense and defense with lots of spirit and chatter marked the proceedings, but a few goldbricks were noted among the eager beavers. While Bob Waterfield knocked himself out dragging down a 60-yard toss with one hand, Tom Harmon gave Kenny Washington a hotfoot and the line played footy-footy.
All in all, the Westerners seemed not too worried about their impending clash with the "over-confident" Boston Yanks.
