PBH Plea

A volunteer service, whose merit attracted many during the war years, will reach out again for aid on November 11 and 12 when the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Phillips Brooks House jointly conduct a blood bank drive. Anyone alive to events during the recent conflict, whether in or out of service, appreciates the value of the conveniently located blood bank, such is familiar with the rudiments of blood giving. Keeping abreast with the Armed Forces and many other states, Massachusetts is building up a blood reservoir which is on tap without cost to any resident of the State including those in attendance at schools here.

PBH has received several offers in the course of its preliminary drive, but needs at least 250 additional volunteers in order to top its quota minimum of 250 pints. Since donations can be accepted only on the above named days between one and six in the afternoon, advance appointments are required. These can be made by calling, writing, or appearing in person at Phillips Brooks House during the coming week. All men are urged to consider this appeal not only on the grounds of service to others but to themselves as well, for the satisfaction derived form donating blood is very great.
