A prolonged voting session requiring eight ballots and recounts resulted last night in the selection of Edwin J. Jacob '47 to the presidency of the Debate Council's executive committee. Jacob replaces Munroe S. Singer '47, who resigned after a six-months tenure to complete his Senior academic requirements.
Also elected as officers, following the adoption by the Council of its constitution, were Robert M. Beren '47 as vice-president, Detlev F. Vagts '49 as home secretary, Mortimer S. Steinberg '47 as treasurer, and Daniel M. Pierce '49 as publicity manager. William P. D. Bailey '46 was re-elected as corresponding secretary.
