Discouraged with American woman hood? Looking for the old country? Phillips Brooks House offers one and all the opportunity of correspondence with foreign students who have written to the University requesting "pen pals."

These letters fall into two classifications: those in painful English which can't be understood, and those in foreign vernacular (which, unless one is a native, also can't be understood).

Most legible example of the former comes from a professor of agriculture at Hodmezovasarhely Academy: "My deciples are desirous of correspondence with American ladies."
